Final Project : Wearable Architecture
FINAL PROJECT PROGRESS COMPILATION
LOOK 1
I start off my look 1 by creating a manipulated base for my top, I achieved the outcome by drawing 1 cm width lines with 2 cm gap to my fabric, I proceed to sew the 1 cm lines together, and cut the sewn pieces after, as shown in the picture below.

Process of Look 1 Top (Fabric Manipulation)
After that, I proceed to drape the manipulated base on the mannequin and mark all the pin points.
Look 1 Top Draping
I proceed to sew the top and add zippers, then finish it off with a top-stitch & hemline finishing.
Process of Look 1 Top (Sewing)
For my skirt, I drafted a mermaid skirt using the basic skirt pattern board. I then proceed to cut the fabric, sew the sides together, added zipper, and finally finish off my skirt base with facing.
Process of Look 1 Skirt
After completing the skirt, I proceed to add a layer of sheer fabric that ruffled-sewn in order to create a natural dropping effect from the fabric

FINAL LOOK ON MODEL
For my look 2, the base of the dress is a well-fitted short dress. I drafted the pattern, cut the fabric, attached fabric interfacing, sew all the sides together, added zipper, and finish the dress with facing.
Completion of Look 2 Base Dress
I proceed to prepare and sew my manipulation using a different color and type of fabric, with exploring different length of fish bone to create different textures and silhouettes.
Sewing Manipulation
Next, I place the manipulation on my dress base and explore few possible texture placements before I decide on the final look and pin it for further sewing.

LOOK 3
For my look 3, I drafted the corset top, attached interfacing, placed boning and jacket zipper, then finish off the top by attaching lining. For both layers of the skirt, I cut it using the full skirt method which gives a lot of volume to the skirt, which I am looking for.
Process of Sewing Look 3 Top
For my top, I did 'patchwork' manipulation, where i took inspiration from my first look's manipulation.
For my skirt, I did a full circle skirt with a waist band to support the heavy fabric. For the second layer pf the skirt that uses a different fabric, I did the same, but made it asymmetrical to make the overall look more organic.

REFLECTION
This semester had been quite tough for me, as I struggled with time a lot due to personal reasons. However, I am glad that I can still feel the joy out of the hardships that came. With the guidance from my lecturers, I was able to explore new ideas and pick up new skills along the experimenting process. Not only in terms of designing and sewing, I've also learned a lot of valuable life lessons this semester. I am beyond grateful and for all the experiences, and most importantly, I am proud of my collection.
Thank you dear lecturers, for the endless guidance.
